In June 2020 the FDA designated the investigation of the ZZ Biotech’s experimental drug 3K3A-APC for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke as a Fast Track development program. In May of 2022 the NINDS awarded $4 million of a grant budgeted to total approximately $30 million to researchers at the Keck School of Medicine of USC to conduct a pivotal Phase 3 clinical trial in acute ischemic stroke using 3K3A-APC.
